It depends primarily on the type of work, location, and the products you use. If you have a commercial building with very little shade, your paint job will bear the brunt of all that nature has to offer. From the winter sleet to the intensity of the summer sun, the life of your paint will be affected. In short, a home in a shady yard should get between 15 and 20 years if you use a better grade urethaneized acrylic paint. Commercial buildings should see about 10 years of service out of a good paint job. Our recommendation to both commercial and residential customers is to make sure the painter preps the surface well by pressure washing, caulking, and priming any bare wood or other substrates and then using a better grade exterior paint from one of the leading paint manufacturers. But let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like a great new paint job to drum up a little excitement!
