Business Owners
Business owners in central Indiana have been depending on our team to take care of their painting needs since 2005! We handle your painting projects so you don’t have to!
Can you paint my business on our off hours?
Aboslutely! This is one of our specialties. We can paint your busines while you are closed to the public. Our team will return any areas we are painting back to service by cleaning and vacuuming so that you and your team experience as little disruption as possible.
Will painting my business create offensive or harmful odors?
One major concern for many retail, restaurant, and office managers is the paint smell. Our team uses very low and zero VOC materials that contain little to no odor. If paint smell is a concern for you and your team, we can use very low odor paints like PPG Pure Performance along with high volume air scrubbers to completely remove the paint smell from the air. Our project consultants will cover this concern in the quoting phase to make sure we understand your needs so we can serve you better.
What are your payment terms for commercial painting work?
Our normal payment term for B2B work is net 30. We understand that it takes time to get an invoice paid by most business operations. If you have special needs or require different terms, just let the project consultant know and they will be happy to discuss and adjust to your needs if they can.
Do you have a paint the is scuff resistant?
Yes, all of our manufacturers have durable products that will reduce the scuffing to your walls, doors, and trim. The best one currently on the market is Benjamin Moore’s Scuff X. This may not lengthen your paint cycle, but it will reduce the amount of scuffing your facility takes on in the same amount of time. Commercial high traffic areas should be painted more frequently.
The exterior of my building is peeling, what should I do?
The sooner you get a professional painter to deal with this problem the better. No matter what the substrate is, it will continue to deteriorate until you get this paint probelm solved. Paint provides an important protective role in your building’s “envelope”. Paint is designed to shed the water in order to protect the underlying building materials. Wood, EIFS, and CMU will deteriorate quickly if left exposed to the elements for too long — especially in our Indiana winters!
Is elastomeric paint worth the price?
Elastomeric paint is great for areas like Florida where there is a lot of wet weather and no freeze thaw cycle. Here in Indiana, we see it fail too often and create bigger problems. Elastomeric paint is a vapor barrier, so any moisture that does make it through will not migrate through the paint film and be trapped in your walls. Our winters are too cold for the coating to perform well as they tend to become more brittle in the low temperatures. We recommend high build masonry coating that breathes instead of elastomeric paint for most commercial applications.
Facility Managers
As a facility manager, you need a team of tradesmen who who will make you look good. Our team will work to understand your complete painting scope and your requirements in a 360° view. We will work with you to understand your safety program and your certification protocols to keep you in compliance.
We require certifications in order to work in our facility. Will this be a problem?
Probably not. Our team is regularly in production plants and can obtain most of the certifications that your facility requires. Our project consultants will obtain your requirements to see if we already have these certifications and, if we don’t, we can, in most cases, obtain them so we can safely work in your facility.
Do you do safety striping?
Yes, we can prepare your floor or walls to recieve any special safety markings you require. Our team is proficient in all types of high perfomance coatings and can provide you with long-lasting solutions for your plant.
Is your crew vetted in any way?
Our field crews undergo a full background check and drug testing that must be renewed every year. Like you, we are concerned for our team and who we expose them to. Our main goal is the safety of the team and to protect our company as a great place to work!
Can you get a painting project done during our shutdown or reset time?
Absolutely. Be sure to talk this over with our project consultant and to leave plenty of time to ensure scheduling can be coordinated. Plant shutdowns are our favorite time to get things done too!
General Contractors
Painting for general contractors is one of our specialties. We aim to be the painting contractor you can count on for tight schedules and jobs that require a more professional touch. Our lowest end products usually exceed the architectural specifications and we spend extra time making sure you get a great paint finish that will wow your clients. Our motto for GC work has always been “Committed to the Finish”. Our team is committed to giving you the best product to present to your clients. Your reputation depends on it!
Your price is too high! Does it really cost that much to paint new commercial work?
The subcontracting market is a very competitive market and we are very familiar with the work. Much of our 20 year history has been spent as a subcontractor. Lately, we have been focusing on relationships and quality. We think the end user, your customer, is best served when everyone works as a team and that takes better coordination and more involvement. We prefer to give you better customer service, more professional painters, and higher grade products so that your team and your customer gets better results.
Can you value engineer our project?
Yes and no. There are only a few ways you can reduce the price of a project on the painting front. One is by reducing its footprint — smaller projects are generally cheaper to paint. Another is by choosing more cost effective products — most new builds already spec the low end or builder grade products. The only other way we can think of is by giving back any hope of making a profit — this is just a slow death for most subcontractors. But we’d be happy to take a look at it to see if we can help! Perhaps two suggestions we can offer is to omit wallcovering or other high dollor decor and accent walls. Other trades could likely offer more effective savings.
Can you help our current painting contractor out?
We are frequently asked to help out a failing sub on a commercial project and we are always happy to help. Our rates are $70 per hour for straight time and $90 for nights, weekends, and overtime. Just give us a call and we’ll do our best to put your project on our schedule.
Are you insured?
Yes, we have insurance coverage that meets or exceeds even the most demanding commercial clients.
What are your scheduling requirements?
We need to know your project’s schedule by Wednesday of the week prior to the week you need our team on your project. The earlier you let us know, the more likely we can meet your needs.
Do you use subcontractors?
The reality in the painting industry is that most painters are now prefering the gig economy. We do have our own full time crews, but will sometimes need to augment them with subcontract labor. We have a reliable system for hiring and managing subcontract teams so you won’t even know the difference!
Homeowners
Homeowners love our warranty and our satisfaction gaurantee – you don’t pay a dime until we finish the painting project and you are happy with our work. When you hire our team, we understand the trust you are placing in us and we can’t think of a better way to return the trust by ensuring you that you we trust you too. We want to part of YOUR team!
How long will my exterior paint job last?
It depends primarily on the type of work, location, and the products you use. If you have a commercial building with very little shade, your paint job will bear the brunt of all that nature has to offer. From the winter sleet to the intensity of the summer sun, the life of your paint will be affected. In short, a home in a shady yard should get between 15 and 20 years if you use a better grade urethanized acrylic paint. Commercial buildings should see about 10 years of service out of a good paint job. Our recommendation to both commercial and residential customers is to make sure the painter preps the surface well by pressure washing, caulking, and priming any bare wood or other substrates and then using a better grade exterior paint from one of the leading paint manufacturers. But let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like a great new paint job to drum up a little excitement!
Should I be worried about having painting done while my employees and customers are around?
There are many valid concerns to having the interior of your business painted with customers and employees around. First, you need to consider the potential trouble of people accidentally getting paint on themselves or on their property. This is the biggest concern we always have and one you should seriously consider when thinking about scheduling your project. Second is the fumes. Some people are very sensitive about smells. We have a few tools in our arsenal to combat this one. First, we always use low or zero VOC products unless you have need of a high performance paint like epoxy. Second, we can use scrubbers to clean the air as we work. These machines filter the air to remove both particulate (dust) and odor using HEPA and charcoal filters. Finally, you are probably worried about having tradesman around your business – will they behave themselves? Our crews are trained and disciplined to be polite, friendly and will behave accordingly. We can work with your schedule too. If you feel more comfortable with us working at night or on the weekends, we have the ability to make those arrangements too.
What products do you use?
We use a wide variety of products from specialty metallic paints to your everyday commercial grade products. Our skillset is quite varied. For residential interior work, we recommend the Emerald line by Sherwin Williams, the Ultralast line by PPG, or Regal Select by Benjamin Moore. These products will hold up to most of the abuse that commonly occurs. For residential exterior work, we recommend Duration by Sherwin Williams, Permanizer by PPG, or the Regal line from Benjamin Moore. Commercial work will need a custom spec written based on your use, but typically, we use PPG SpeedHide or Sherwin Williams ProMar 200 for most low maintenance interior applications. We also have access to a full line of industrial products should your project require them. For doors and trim, we recommend Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel – there is nothing quite like it!

If you would like to review our insurance certificate, we would be happy to send a copy of our certificate to you – just send your request to office@wepaintindy.com or give us a call to request a copy. We are not bonded, this usually ensures that our firm will complete the job as contracted. Bonding is usually acquired for larger municipal work.
Do you screen your employees?
Yes. We perform background checks on all of our employees and we screen them for drugs upon employment and once a year after that. You can rest assured that we care about the safety of our crews and the security of your business or home and will do everything we can to ensure a safe and productive workplace.
When is the best time to paint my house?
We always recommend painting exteriors in the Spring or Fall. Painting in the winter in Indiana can be tricky with the wide ranges in our weather. Summer is often very hot and could cause the paint to dry too quickly and make the color or sheen less consistent and even weaken the acrylic bond that should form under more ideal circumstances. We will work with you to best determine when your projects exterior should be painted.
How much does it cost to paint my house?
The following are costs for an average home of around 2,000 sqft. Yours will vary, but we want to give you an idea of the cost to paint the different areas of your home.
Living Room walls – $600, trim – $250, ceiling – $250, doors $135 each for door and casing both sides. Exteriors for an average 2,000 single story wood or vinyl sided house would run about $5,900 to paint the body, trim, and doors. A full bath would cost about $400 for walls only.
